Welcome to Boat Club Cornwall.

Boat Club Cornwall provides RIB Charter to appropriately qualified members, currently in Falmouth and surrounding area.
As part of joining the club you will get a thorough induction to the boat and area of operation so you can be sure of a good time afloat.
For most water users club membership and charter represents a significant saving over owning your own boat. We look after the maintenance and servicing of the boat, along with ensuring all the appropriate safety kit is serviced and in place. When you arrive the boat will be clean, fueled up and run up so you can step a board and head out without any faff.

Boat Club Cornwall FAQ

Boat Club Cornwall is a members-only RIB charter club where you can hire a RIB once you’ve completed an induction and hold RYA Powerboat Level 2. Skippered trips and commercial hires are also available.
Membership is required for self-drive hire. Skippered trips and commercial work can be arranged without membership.
You must hold a valid RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate before hiring. Training or direct assessment can be arranged if required.
Training can be completed at any RYA Powerboat School. If you already have experience, you may take a direct assessment.
The induction ensures you are confident with this specific RIB, its controls, electronics, safety equipment, and the local cruising area.
The induction lasts around three hours and includes a full briefing, safety checks, electronics overview, and an on-water skills assessment equivalent to RYA Level 2 standard.
Yes. If skills are not at RYA Level 2 standard or unsafe behaviour is shown, further training will be recommended before hire is permitted.
No. Once you have passed the assessment, only a short boat-specific handover is needed when using a different RIB.
Only members who have completed the induction may skipper the RIB. Passengers do not need membership.
Members can book seven days a week (excluding Christmas). Options include pay-as-you-go, pre-paid days, last-minute bookings, or consecutive multi-day hire.
Day hire runs from 8:30am and the boat must be returned by 5:30pm.
Yes. Consecutive days are permitted during daylight hours with suitable storage arrangements agreed in advance.
No. The boat must be secured at least one hour before sunset and night use is not permitted.
You may cruise within the Fal Estuary, Falmouth Bay, and Helford Passage. Delivery elsewhere may be arranged by prior agreement.
Yes, delivery to alternative locations can be arranged for an agreed fee.
No. Insurance does not cover towing inflatables or water-skiing activities.
The RIB is supplied with a full tank. You may return it full or opt for refuelling at the end of hire (fuel plus small service fee applies).
Yes. A £1200 damage deposit is held before hire and returned within seven days if no deductions are required.
When factoring in insurance, storage, servicing, maintenance, and depreciation, Boat Club membership is typically more cost-effective for most users.
