Welcome to Merlin

Sun Odysseys are well known for being very straight forward and rewarding to sail, they combine logical deck layouts, well proportioned hulls and rigs with comfortable and well appointed interiors. Merlin is no exception, the cockpit is a good size for up to 8 people, but as everything is led to the coach roof it is easy to sail Merlin with just 2 people.

Under sail

Merlin is well balanced but lively, a very enjoyable boat. Under motor Merlin is very predictable; the large keel and single spade rudder take all the stress out of close quarters manoeuvres. If the wind or tide do throw you a curve ball, it happens to us all, there is a bow thruster too just in case.

A well mannered user friendly 37ft boat. This is a great stepping stone from smaller keel boats to larger yachts. She is able to carry 10 people.

Below deck

There are 2 double aft cabins, to starboard is the galley, to port the heads. Moving forward a forward facing navigation table and instrument panel, opposite a u shaped settee and dining table. In the forward cabin, another double berth. Altogether Merlin can comfortably sleep 8 adults. There is good head room throughout.

Pick up – 18:30 Friday or 11:00 Saturday (unless tidal access to berth dictates differently) Return – 16:00 Friday First and last night the berth is included in Mylor

Charters start at Mylor Yacht Harbour near Falmouth in Cornwall, providing excellent access to Cornwall’s waters and coastline.

Merlin is a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37 sailing yacht, well-balanced and lively under sail, with a logical deck layout and comfortable interiors. She is easy to handle and suitable for both experienced and learning crews.

Merlin can comfortably sleep 8 adults and carry up to 10 people. Her cockpit and deck layout allow her to be sailed by just 2 people if required.

Merlin is equipped with DSC VHF, electric windlass, chart plotter, wind speed and depth instruments, Yanmar engine, wheel steering, heating, hot water, AIS B, transom shower, swim platform, and tender.

All our boats are kept on moorings, which are available for the duration of the charter. On arrival, the boat will be brought alongside the marina for the briefing. After the briefing, you have the following options:

- Take the boat away immediately.
- Return it to the allocated mooring.
- Keep it alongside the marina (for an additional charge payable directly to the marina; this must be pre-booked).

Yes, skippered charters are available and are ideal for those without qualifications, day trips, sailing holidays, long weekends or special occasions.

Cost per person: £850 or £800 pp if two book together

Private course: £2800 (up to 4 people) or £3200 (up to 5 people)

Private weekend courses: Courses can be run over 3 weekends or start on different days, please call to discuss your requirements.
